Yesterday (MS)

Yesterday is tomorrow's reality

it wants you to arise from the dead 

to take up your bed and walk


Yesterday doesn't care

if tomorrow promises you the Earth

or even a comfortable chair.


Yesterday is hungry for your attention

it wants your adoration

an obsession that will never fulfill you

step away, out the door, into the present


Yesterday is a leash
The present is a happy dog
Tomorrow is a walk in delusion

The Deer (JG)

Outside the window a deer bends to the grass,  opens its mouth,  bites the brown grass  waiting there for spring. I want to say I’m waiting too,  waiting for some spring,  waiting for the day  like no other day,  but those are lost somewhere,  lost in memory,  a locked room. The deer hears me  behind the window and looks up.   His eyes see me, see everything.   He turns his head and moves further down the hill.
